Warrington Museum & Art Gallery – along with Central Library – has moved to a temporary base in Golden Square shopping centre to allow for repair work to be carried out on the 164-year-old, Grade II-listed building on Bold Street.

What is happening to Warrington Museum & Library?
Warrington Museum & Library has temporarily relocated to Golden Square shopping centre for approximately six months to accommodate essential maintenance works.
What services are available?
Full library services can be accessed at the temporary site, in addition to IT services, archives services, and access to a selection of Warrington Museum & Art Gallery’s remarkable collections.
Where is it?
The Pop-Up Museum & Library is located in the former USC unit in Golden Square, situated between Waterstones and WHSmith.
What are the opening hours?
Mon-Fri: 10.00 – 4.30
Saturday: 10.00 – 4.00
Sunday: 11.00 – 3.00
How long is the Museum Street building be closed for?
Warrington Museum & Library’s permanent home in Museum Street will be closed for approximately six months.
Why is it closed?
The Museum Street building is closed to accommodate essential maintenance works to the 164-year-old, Grade II-listed building, including urgent repair work to the roof.
What safety measures are in place at the Pop-Up Museum & Library?
Museum & Library staff are continually monitoring government advice and industry guidelines and have put all necessary safety measures in place for the wellbeing of visitors and staff alike.
