Croft Filters (originally called Croft Engineering Services) was founded in Warrington, England in 1986 by Neil Burns (a former employee of Lockers) and his brother Mark. The company’s initial focus was on retailing wire mesh and finding practical uses for it.

The company’s focus later changed to producing filters. As the company established itself it became known for high quality craftsmanship and its desire to “go the extra mile” to understand customers filtration problems. Working closely with its customers the company has amassed vast knowledge and experience in delivering effective and practical filtration solutions at speed.

Today the company has developed into an international force in custom-made filter manufacture with high profile clients across the globe in a range of industry sectors. The driving force behind the company’s success has been its commitment to listen to customers and consistently provide a fast and agile service. As Croft Filters looks to the future this vision remains at the heart of the company’s philosophy as it grows with its customers.

This article was written for the Wire Works Project 2020-2021, a National Lottery Heritage funded project aiming to highlight and celebrate the legacy left by the wire industry, which dominated Warrington’s employment structure for over 170 years, putting the town at the forefront of the Industrial Revolution.
