Cabinet of Curiosities Gallery

Our Cabinet of Curiosities gallery aims to recreate the “wonder rooms” of the sixteenth century by displaying a number of key objects from the museum collection, both natural and manmade. One side of the gallery covers the wonders of the natural world while the other contains a selection of curious objects of local history as well as fine and decorative art.

The central case in the gallery contains a changing programme of displays that support and comment on the museum’s collections.
