Botany Gallery
Our Botany Gallery is a rare survival, probably the last remaining economic botany gallery in the United Kingdom in that it covers traditional areas of botany such as the classification and properties of plants but also covers the uses of plants in cookery, industry and medicine.
Key objects in the gallery include the Brendal Flower models, made to teach Botany in the late 19th century when microscopes were still rare and expensive. These large-scale plant models were made to show people how plants work and the difference between plant families.
