Warrington Stories Gallery I

The first of our Warrington Story galleries covers the history of the town and surrounding area from the prehistoric period to the end of the Second World War. It includes regionally significant collections of Stone Age and Bronze Age material as well as Roman remains from Wilderspool and Medieval finds from Warrington’s 13th century friary.

A key object in the gallery is the ‘Persona Tragica’, otherwise known as the actor’s mask, found at the Roman site of Wilderspool in Stockton Heath.
