Teachers CPD

We offer a number of teacher CPD sessions throughout the school year based on a range of subjects including history, geography, literacy, maths, and art.

We send full details of these sessions to all Warrington schools directly, but do contact us if you’re from outside the borough, or you want to suggest a theme or provider.

We also offer our own in house CPD sessions for schools (£100 half day or twilight) on bespoke themes such as:

  • Getting the most from the Museum
  • Engaging with Artefacts
  • Local History in Primary Schools
  • Artwork and our Collections

If your school is considering embarking on their ArtsMark journey, we are part of the ArtsMark Partnership Programme, so contact us for advice.

We can talk you through services we offer, link you with other cultural providers in the region and you can approach us to act as a critical friend.

We maintain an Artist database teachers can access. This holds information for artists covering a range of creative and performance disciplines. All artists have either been used by the museum, or have been recommended by other Heritage Education staff in the region. We can send you a simple page of contact details, in addition to images of past work and references.

We are trained in the Discover Level for Arts Award and have delivered programmes to schools – please get in touch if you are considering delivering within your setting.

We have four teacher resources packs available at £10 per pack.

These all have colour photo card packs and are specifically linked to our collections and your curriculum.

Themes are:

  • North and South America
  • Rainforest
  • Warrington Artists
  • World Patterns
