The worldwide pandemic of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19)reached the UK in late January 2020. As of 20 December 2020 there have been over 2 million confirmed cases and 67,075 deaths, the world’s eighth-highest death rate per hundred thousand population and the highest number overall in Europe.

The whole country has been affected by the virus and never has our reliance on the Nation Health Service been so important. This online exhibition looks at the history of the NHS and pays tribute to the work of the frontline heroes now and throughout history who have fought to make all our lives healthier and happier.
