Bewsey Soldiers of WW1 and WW2
The A-Z of soldiers and the named War Memorials linked to below give a list of men associated with the Bewsey area of Warrington who fought in WW1 or WW2. The results are primarily focused around WW1, but where a memorial has had a section for both wars, WW2 soldiers have been included. The A-Z lists men not found on any known War Memorial, whilst the separate memorial pages list the men associated with specific communities in Bewsey and commemorated by their fellows at the time.
The lives of the soldiers have been researched by Local Historian Barbara Goerner of the Bewsey Local History Group. Barbara has worked tirelessly to ensure that the lives of these men are not forgotten.
Also linked to below are lists of the names of men appearing on various Bewsey related War Memorials. In each case, as withe the A-Z, information about each soldier, as researched by Barbara, is included.
The project was a vast undertaking and has created an invaluable resource for historians researching WW1 and its effects on Warrington.
