The Great War Records were damaged during World War Two so are incomplete. With just the bare minimum of information I have tried to identify these soldiers. My main source of reference was all categories of Ancestry.co.uk; others I have listed below each soldier. There is some where I have been unable to identify one man, so put the information of both of them. Others there are too many of similar names to choose from. Where I am uncertain I have put question mark.

The information may help in tracing your family during a time of great conflict. I hope the information is correct and if you are reading it and have any information which will help I would like to hear from you. I would like to thank the staff of Warrington Library and Museum for their patience and help with my research.

St Ann’s Church WW1

St Ann’s School had a Memorial to their fallen scholars; this is now lost. The Warrington Examiner’s article on the 18th November 1922 lists these scholars, they are shown with an *.

St Ann’s Church on Winwick Road had a paper tablet with photographs of its choir members that lost their lives. The first nine names are these men. This Photograph was Dedicated on 1st May 1921 and hung in the Vestry.

They also published ‘The Parish Almanack’ Warrington Library these are in their archives. Though not a complete set, there are nine issues during WW1 that list the men and boys of their congregation that went to war.

WW2 men and women from the Parish are listed at the bottom of this list.
