The Archives can help if you want to trace your family tree, find out about the history of your house, or learn about the part of Warrington you live in.

You don’t even have to have a specific purpose in mind other than a desire to learn more about local or family history. To find out more about the nature of our collections visit archives and Local History Collection

The Museum’s Search Room is located on the ground floor of the Warrington Library and Museum building.

We have microfilm & microfiche readers available for you to use and the latest reader-printer to print off copies of anything you find. Readers can be booked in advance. Anyone can consult the documents in our collections free of charge, however there are fees for some services within the room, such as the provision of copies or the use of a camera.

If you are unable to visit the Search Room in person we are able to offer a research service. The fees for conducting research can be obtained by contacting the Searchroom using the details given below, payment is taken in advance.
